Hello to everyone,

We are putting the COW out to pasture for a year or so, but we will be pursuing new ventures. We want to thank everyone who’s entered our competitions, enjoyed our website and given us sleepless nights coming up the winners!

The last competition was our Autumn 2011 short story. Again we had entries from all over the world and once more the judges were dueling at dawn to find the winners.

Below are the stories that were longlisted, shortlisted and the winners, in this particular competition. If you name isn’t included, don’t let that put you off. Writing is a vocation and a challenge. Prisoners probably spend less time in solitary confinement, as does a writer with a good idea – but the difference is we get to leave the room every so often.

So here are the results of the last competition for now. Prizes will be winging their way to you either by PayPal or cheque.

Thank you all for your support for the COW, and well done to all of you whether you’ve been a winner, close to being a winner or have just entered on the off chance.

We will be in touch with news of new ventures. In the meantime, the COW website will remain up and running until March, so check out the links page for ideas for other competitions you might want to enter.

The critiquing services and other things offered are no longer in practice from Brighton COW, but some of these will be resurrected in a different format very soon. Again we will be in touch about these.

We wish you all the very best with your writing in the future.

Kind regards

Brighton COW
